COVID-19

At the Swiss Steel Group, the health of our employees, their families and society as a whole has top priority in the current exceptional situation. We are in a period at the moment in which we must jointly take and implement drastic measures.

The development of the situation is continuously monitored and assessed by "corona crisis teams" at the individual locations and at the Corporate Center. The workforce is regularly informed about the measures and recommended actions to contain the spread of the virus. All these measures are in line with the current requirements of the governments in the individual countries.

In all countries, rigorous measures have been taken by the individual subsidiaries in recent days and weeks to contain the spread of the disease as far as possible.

However, as a producer of special long steel, the Swiss Steel Group also includes many areas that cannot work without employees on site. In the course of the constant review of the situation, possible measures in production are prepared and, if necessary, implemented. These include a reduction or even closure of individual production capacities, taking into account all legal requirements.

For the time being, employees working in production, maintenance and similar areas will remain on site. Safety and protective measures with regard to health and hygiene have top priority.

Despite the restrictions, all operational and administrative processes at the Swiss Steel Group will remain fully operational, with the aim of supplying our customers as reliably as usual.

Together we will master this crisis.
